Miss Canada just won the Miss Universe 2005 crown.
The other top four contestants were all from Latin America.
Interestingly, there was not even a single mention on Miss Malaysia in the report.
One wonders what happened to that cocky statement of hers...
'I am confident, intelligent and I have a great personality and that is why I should win'.
But this time, win she did not...
Could it be that, the Malaysian judges with their warped sense of judgement, were not invited to sit in the panel?

BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) - Blue-eyed Canadian brunette Natalie Glebova was crowned Miss Universe 2005 in the Thai capital on Tuesday in the 54th annual pageant.
The 12-judge panel chose beauties from Mexico, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela and Canada for the final round.
Gardening, photography, food, fishing, traveling, scuba diving, life in Japan, plus of course, news and views of being away from home...

ReplyDeletehahhaha. i m a frank and direct guy (confident), and i will never qualify for mr hunk (and humble), so i wish to clarify that whenever i watch Miss this or that, it is purely for the looks and the bodies which kills(honest). better still, if they have this emerging out from the water sort(damn honest).

ps: I hd a glimpse at Ms. Indian Malaysia. They really outperform chinese ones in terms of intelligence.
keatix my man... I envy that you could get to catch a glimpse of the Ms Indian Malaysia... must be a very 'stimulating' experience... me thinks the questioning sessions are just a decoy to tell people that it is not only for 'looks'... the likelihood is, probably very very few souls believe it...
ReplyDeletewell. i did follow up the pageant updates the past three weeks. this year contestants are really upto standard - beautiful and smart. and ms angela was not even close to either. i dont deny that she has somewhat a sweet look, but she was not as poise as the beauties from the west. as for asians, i am not surprised ms indonesia was shortlisted for semifinal. she is pretty although a little thin but she did stir some issues concerning islam moral principles and she handled them well (of course it is debatable that her success in the pageant was indeed a political one). additionally she did well in her upclose pre-interviews. talking about interviews, you should have seen how angela did hers. not particularly outstanding. this year even though top 5 finalist were from canada and latin america, asian countries didnt do bad - with ms indonesia in the top15, ms thailand won best national costume and ms philippines bagging two awards - one of them ms photogenic.

Patrick my friend… you are very ‘hardworking’ to follow the pageant… I only saw the picture of the charming Ms Indonesia. Normally, Asians lose to Caucasians and Latinos lah. This is not to say that Asians are not pretty. They are, absolutely. Perhaps it is the ‘judges’ who have their own image of beauty? However, among ASEAN nations, the results are very agreeable from the view that Indonesia, Thailand, and Philippines did pretty well. Malaysians (most often than not, Chinese Malaysians) still have a long way to go… Personally, I believe that the swimsuit segment should be axed considering the level of modesty of many cultures… but if they do that, maybe they lose a huge chunk of the ‘H’ audience like keatix…
