Born, raised, and initially educated in Kedah, Malaysia.
Did a 'hop-step-and-jump' over Singapore, the Philippines, and United States before ending up in the Land of the Rising Sun in April 1987.
Sudied at Hiroshima University (Japanese Language), Kagawa University (Master degree), and Nagoya University (PhD degree).
Academician at Kagawa University from 1996 to 2024.
Currently enjoying country-side living, growing vegetables and fruits, playing the Shakuhachi, and skin diving at the Seto Inland Sea National Park.
