It was like, love at first sight...
She is 27 years old and she stands beautifully...
Finally decided to hit the button on this one...
It is a holiday house currently owned by a 70 year old doctor and his wife.
We saw it a week ago and decided almost instantly that we wanted her...
We saw the house again...and the feeling was the same...
The land size... 820 square meters compared to about 150 square meters for an average house in the city core...
The location... about 20 kilometers from the university...
I intend to continue cycling to work with my mountain bike.
The Japanese people were shocked to hear this...
Travel time is expected to be one hour per way...
There are five uphill slopes so there is going to be some sweat...
A stone's throw away is the northern most point of Shikoku island...
And, a well known temple in a cave housing the Goddess of Mercy...
Five to ten minutes walk from the house is the beach...
I foresee swimming, snorkeling, and fishing...yeah!!!
Yesterday, we sat on a large rock in the garden... and gazed to our heart's content...
Pretty luxurious, I must say...
The garden is 'mature', and 'Japanese'...with a slope on the east side...
There are large sakura trees, plum trees, maple, pines...
At the lows, there is ginger, bamboo, iris... and lots more...
Three seasoned stone lanterns and rain-scrapped bamboo fences further characterize the garden...
To cap it, there is a raised plot for vegetable planting...
I see fresh cucumbers... bitter gourd... salads...
Oh yes, we are going to indulge ourselves with some 'space' pretty soon...
Congrats man, finally found what you looking for.Wah, so much vegetables to feed and so near the sea (free fish). Must be scenic, view from the house.Imaging what you have written.
ReplyDeleteTake it from thquah...imagining what you have written - - I thought you live in heaven on earth!
ReplyDeleteOmedatou gazaimasu, Lrong-san!
I think we all felt happy for you, and hopefully you will feel happy when we visits your garden, or went snorkeling with you, hehe :p
And a path with flowers on both sides, white pebbles, fountain at the end. Go for it, Lrong! Errrm...The exercise will do you good, no?

Congrats. Like something I have been dreaming about for quite sometime.
ReplyDeletethquah... thanks, man… she is pretty close to what we have been aiming at…am sure looking forward to dirtying my paws with vegetable gardening… yeap, free fish and free bait from the rocky areas too… and no doubt, scenic…
ReplyDeleteLow... well, arigato gozaimasu… let’s say, almost ‘paradise’ on earth considering the budget and other constraints… *university lecturers do not get that high a pay*… you are of course welcomed to visit the garden and to snorkel with me in the nearby sea...
5xmom... they have indeed laid stones on the path, lined with yellow and white flowers, pebbles, but no fountain… see how lah, maybe can try to fix one myself… or at least, a bird bath… am planning to strenghten my leg and thigh muscles with the cycling distance… if cannot heck it ah, then may purchase a 125CC off-road Honda bike to commute…
keatix... thank god I am falling in love with the ‘right’ gender… other wise, I will be like Elton John… which is not too bad actually becos he’s loaded and well known…
GeauxPottery... danke danke… open house ah… see first lah… will be shooting the pics after we settled down… yeap, space and privacy was among the top conditions for us too…
mark... yes, pictures will be following up in due time… we are probably moving in there in september…
Adam... how are things? Thanks…after seeing quite a bit of rather crappy houses which are cramped into tight neigherboods, she is quite a ‘dream’ for us… off the path, good neighborhood, nearby the sea, nearby the mountain… and yet located in quiet town which is the setting for a hit movie recently…
Wow...never thought it is so fast. It really sounds scenic, looking forward to see pics too! Happy for you...
ReplyDeleteMama22Beas... thank you... well, pushed the button after almost half a year of searching... will certainly be posting some pics in due time...
ReplyDeleteMy, this looks like a dream house! By the beach and then gardening too.... Life is good.
ReplyDeleteThe Seasonal One... danke... it is quite a house, really... even after staying for about six years now, my missus and I are still excited about the house...
