Had been very busy lately... while traveling quite a bit since August...
Took a handful of students to Chiang Mai as part of a class...
Besides the classrooms, we took time out for a bit of fun, doing things like riding cow carts, taking elephant rides, and experiencing bamboo rafting...
And when in Thailand, woah, food...
Thai noodles... oooh...
Upon returning home, thought I could take a rest...
But no... had to do a quickie trip to Beijing to attend to an emergency situation...
Was actually my first time to step on the streets of Beijing...
And my counterparts suggested, yes, what else but the Peking Duck...
The picture shows the supposedly most delicious parts of the duck that the host normally offers to the honored guests...
And the duck liver was real tasty, I'd say...
And after the duck, we did the touristy thingy of visiting the gigantic Forbidden City Museum...
In the evening, yes again... the Peking Opera it was...
Thought that was fun to watch...
Did you try to sit on the ancient emperors' throne???
ReplyDeleteWooh, too many tourists gawking at that spot... just took a quick snapshot of that throne...
DeleteYummy. I prefer Asian food than Western food. :)
ReplyDeleteActually,me too... and with lots of vegetables too...
DeleteHope not to duplicate my comment got some tech glitch. Wow back2back from Sawasdee to Ning Hao instantly. While in ChiangMai did you manage to try their signature Kantok dinner? kamsia.
ReplyDeleteYeap, the kantoke dinner was quite interesting an experience... we had a good time at that restaurant watching the cultural shows...
DeleteSo much to enjoy at a stretch! Peking duck and Beijing opera are tops!
ReplyDeleteAm actually looking forward to returning to Beijing in the future... hopefully, bringing some students with me to participate in a Chinese Lang.and Cultural Program...
DeleteOh boy, the food has me drooling! What a great post and photos!
ReplyDeleteThanks... food was really good, actually...
DeleteIndeed, it looks like you have been busy with fascinating experiences and food. I love the Peking Opera costume!
ReplyDeleteThe pic showed an actor being dressed up... this was done on-stage, before the performance...
DeleteNo food related ailments during the visit, I hope?
ReplyDeleteWow! You sure are traveling a lot! Busy!
Thank god, Lina, no food related aches that time... and come Nov, more work-related travels...
DeleteNov is coming soon!
DeleteWhere are you off to in Nov?
