Single for two weeks...

Once or twice a year, my better half visits her mum in Kanagawa Prefecture...
This time, she shall be away for... uh, two weeks.
I recall one of her married friends who, years ago, visited her mum, as my wife is doing now...
After three days, her husband could not take it anymore.
He went over to his mother in law's place and literally kidnapped his wife back home.
Yours truly is not about to do likewise... hehheeee...
Yes, it is lonely to be alone...

You wake up alone, and you prepare your own breakfast...
You eat alone, and you wash the dishes, alone...
You wash your own clothes, hang them up, and you fold them... alone...
After that, you leave for work but there is no one to kiss goodbye...
You slog all day and you return home to a lonely place...
There is no one to greet you 'okaeri nasai' and open the door when you get home...
And yes, you eat your dinner outside, alone, before you return home...
This evening, however, I wanted to eat my own vegetables from the potager...
Stopped at the neighborhood supermarket to pick up a horse mackeral and a packet of yellow noodles... both of which were on sale for half price...
The cashier almost had her eyes wide open... why, the bill came up to just a meagre 87 yen...
This has got to be the cheapest grocery shopping I have ever done here...
Harvested the vegetable greens and threw everything, plus a clove of garlic, into the pot...
Hmm... a bit low on salt but delicious enough...
Shall be visiting my mum-in-law in about ten days' time...
It is a joy to have a meal with her... chatting...
Shall be bringing some of the produce from the potager for her...
And, shall be kidnapping my missus then, to bring her home...
Anyway, thanks to the horse mackeral and noodles, stomach is full and contented...
Now, would I stay up to listen to the soccer match between Japan and Paraguay?
Would Japan create history for Asia by touching base with the final eight?

Update...
Imagine World Cup 1994 final between Italy and Brazil... venue, California... imagine Roberto Baggio kicking that crucial penalty, and missed...
Today, the radio programs in Japan are playing and and replaying that missed penalty by that poor Japanese player...
Japan didn't make it to the last eight, but still, Japan played super well, I think...

  1. Huhuhu! Feel like crying... I could understand the feeling sir.

When my husband was away for some courses for 2 whole weeks... I felt exactly just that. Eventhough the daily chores is of no alien to me, the children went down with fever...missing their dad.

The elders kept on asking and asking when is the daddy coming home...and he took my husband's unwashed t-shirt with him to sleep.

Believe me sir... whatever you feel now... is double for your missus. It'll spice up the sacred vow. May you always be blessed.

  2. I have a feeling that my missus is enjoying herself to a large extent... no need to cook and take care of the house for a while... she is due to meet up with some old friends to yak-yak... am handling the situation quite well here... the work is keeping me occupied constantly... thank god...

  4. Looking at it from another viewpoint, such happenings are a good opportunity for the men to learn how to appreciate the wife more... which, of course, I am (still) learning... sometimes men take things for granted too much...
