Annual medical check-up... continued

I could feel the camera snaking through my digestive system...
(see the first part of the story... Annual medical check-up)
The twirling, poking... the nudging of the inner skins of my stomach...
Relax... said the nurse, as I lightly closed my eyes...
It was over in about 7 minutes...
The doctor showed me the photos he took... more than 30, I believed...
A polyp here, a 'suspect' spot there...

He took a sample from the 'suspect' spot, pointing to the last two photos...
Blood seemed to flow out from that cut...
Just to make sure that it is not something bad, he said...
After all is done, it is time to enjoy the 'bento' (lunch box)...
Throughout the years that I have been undergoing the annual medical check, this hospital have always provided this 'service'...
With my missus joining me for the second year in a row, we slowly chewed through the goodies as we rested our nerves...

The results came some days ago...
Thank god, the indices were generally similar to those of the previous year...
The eyesight is as usual, going to the dogs...
The ears, no problem...
The blood... uh, somewhat low in iron, but ok...
The lungs... heart... cholesterol... not too bad...
But as in last year, the data says that I should undergo a more stringent test for diabetes...
Did that two years ago but no problems... hmmm...

  1. Low in iron sir?...Perhaps you should eat more of green-leafy veges especially spinach; the red-green variety is definitely high in iron. I believe it is called 'horenso' in Japanese? (Please correct me).

But it all again depend on the cooking method. No worries, just continue with the current practice and enrich it more with the naturals instead of the concentrated supplement tablet.

  2. Been having this condition for ages... doctor tried to look for causes for years and took iron pills under doctor supervision for a long time... finally, doctor gave up and said, perhaps it is inherent in your system... if you don't feel dizzy or groggy for no reason, let us stop the pills and monitor the situation... been years since the doctor said that... so, still monitoring... and eating horenso and chicken liver (not the sashimi ones), and also sea shells and sotong...
